- Kartikeya as Shiva
- Payal Rajput as Indu
- Rao Ramesh as Vishwanadham
- Ramki as Daddy
- Mahesh as Raju Bhai
The story of the film is based on the real-life of SIVA, in the rural village of Godavari, where Siva (Karthikeya), a well-mannered and cultured heart-breaker, is raised by Daddy (Ramki). He eventually meets Indu (Payal Rajput), the daughter of a local politician. Love ensues between the couple and they begin an intimate relationship, but when it comes time to disclose the affair with their elders, the couple is separated by a very shocking twist.
Like the plot, Shiva is lost when he thinks the elders have refused his love with Indu. He becomes aggressive, later finding out that Indu never loved Shiva and she only wishes him to satisfy her sex and lust. The film depicts how a passionate hero, Shiva, who owns a movie theater with his father and regularly plays Telugu films, is unable to see the acting and drama with Indu acting in the real world. Indu is a very self-absorbed woman who uses people for her needs and is a predator in her actions. In the end, he is left with despair as his love is abandoned.
Sometimes, the best way to tell a story is in the simplest way – crisp, sharp and straightforward. Yes, there are often multiple layers to a story and many shades to each character, but when you keep the story’s essence simple, everything else falls into place. Ajay Bhupathi’s RX 100 is, at its core, a straightforward story of love, deception and heartbreak. But the film is stretched beyond its capacity beyond stretch melodrama, blood and gore.
Located in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, the focus is on Shiva (Karthikeya), an angry young man who drives an RX 100, smokes cannabis and watches all he sees . He is in a way a poor man Arjun Reddy – angry, unstable, unstable and heartbreaking. More often than not, there is a girl responsible for such behavior, and in the case of Shiva, it is her love for Sindhu (Payal Rajput) that drives her crazy.
The daughter of a politician and village head, Vishwanath (Rao Ramesh), Indus lust in the city after the appeal of Shiva’s toned body and raw penis. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. It’s not long before he tells her how she feels. He teaches her how to kiss and soon, the two are inseparable. So far, Shiva is head over heels, but will his father accept his love? More importantly, does Indu feel the same or is she just going through an emotional summer?
The refreshing aspect about the RX 100 is how the director is oblivious to showing a woman who sees a boy with pure lust, and does not hesitate to take the first step. Sindhu’s character is bold and refreshing and rare to see in mainstream Telugu cinema. There is no barrier and it works.
Unfortunately, the rest of the film is very much, and at times, amateurish. Each scene is extended beyond its ability to drive home at a straight point. For example, when Shiva realizes that Sindhu is marrying someone else and tries to interrupt it, Vishwanath sends his goons to stop her. He is beaten to a pulp and thrown into a warehouse – he wakes up, is beaten until he falls. The same cycle repeats for the next five minutes, and you think ing is okay, we’re talking. It is serious and cumbersome.
Unfortunately, this becomes a pattern with Karthikeya’s character and after a point, a heavy dose of melodrama gets tired of his Prema. While the young actor performs earnestly, he is inconsistent with the different shades of his character. Payal Rajput makes an impact with a solid performance, while Rao Ramesh is as brilliant as ever. Actor Ramki, who is called ‘Daddy’ by everyone, makes a notable performance as Shiva’s guardian.
While Take away the blood and gore and here is a story. Since The RX100 touches an unexplored subject but stumbles in its execution. You can’t help but wonder why the director plays with so many different camera angles and tries to create a dark setting. The RX100 has sex, tears and lots of blood, but the essence of the film is lost somewhere in between. In the same way, the RX100 bike that remains in focus all the time, but in reality, is unimportant.
